"We get most of our redwood burl wood from a 300 acre private ranch in west Sonoma County, areas of which were logged two to three times in the last 120 years. These areas now support second and third growth forest, which has grown up from the stumps left behind by loggers; some of the growth has formed burl wood in which buds from within the roots reach up to the sun striving to become new trees. We hope, that by experiencing and understanding what is within, and beneath, these stately trees, their importance as a standing wonder will be even more cherished, and the remaining redwoods will be allowed to live out their long and grand lives." |
