SAUSALITO, California, March 27, 2006 — The internationally-acclaimed Sausalito Art Festival today announced the addition of three community leaders to the Board of Directors of the SAF Foundation.

Millie Amis, Tony Cook, and Millie Zinman join President James Gabbert, Ann Arnott, John Anderson, Paul Anderson, Leonard Kaprielian, Merv Regan, Nora Smith, John Boccardo, Peg Copple, Herb Weiner, and immediate Past President Mike Stone.

Tony Cook has been a reporter, manager, and entrepreneur in the media business for more than 25 years.  He began his career as a financial journalist writing feature articles on investing and management for Forbes, Money, Fortune, The Washington Post, and The Los Angeles Times.  During the the past five years Tony has consulted on Internet strategy and tactics for early-stage companies engaged in financial publishing, e-learning, video conferencing, online advertising, and catalog merchandising.  His firm, Cook Media, provides strategic advice and ebusiness optimization services to growing enterprises.  Tony has been married for 30 years to writer and broadcaster Ciji Ware.  He and Ciji have lived in Sausalito for five years, and they collect California plein air landscape paintings.

Millie Amis has lived in Sausalito since l994. Her career encompassed the areas of education and retail, as an Instructor at the University of Nevada-Reno, and as a buyer for the San Francisco retail store, Joseph Magnin.  Since retirement, she has been active as a volunteer in the community, including a stint as President of the Sausalito Woman's Club as well as being active on other boards and many committees in that organization.  Her love since childhood has always been for the visual impact of the environment surrounding us as individuals and as a society.

Millie Zinman has lived in Sausalito since 1977, and is the current Chair of the Sausalito Woman's Club Preservation Society.  She enjoys art and art history as a hobby.

The Sausalito Art Festival was named "America's #1 Outdoor Fine Art Festival" by ArtFair Sourcebook 2005, and has been acknowledged as "Best in the West," by Sunshine Artist magazine.  It is held each year over the Labor Day Weekend on the waterfront of beautiful art enclave of Sausalito, California — just a few minutes north of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco.  This world-class event features nearly 300 Artists from around the world, gourmet food and wine, as well as big name entertainment.  The Festival raises and donates more than $200,000 for local organizations and charities each year.
